This smooth and creamy Ninja Creami açai bowl is loaded with antioxidants and fibre. And it’s a great source of protein, naturally while just using Greek yogurt. The perfect cooling breakfast on a hot day.
This simple and creamy açai bowl is easy to make and creates a delicious and nutritious base for your next smoothie bowl. Do you remember how rampant smoothie bowls were back in 2015?! They definitely had their moment in time and I very much was a part of that. I loved creating thick smoothie bowls and topping them with all the things. It was very much a part of my early Instagram days on Holistic Foodie. I think we all grew past them, but an açai bowl is different, and they’re here to stay (for me at least). I loved enjoying them when I went to Hawaii a few years ago for my honeymoon. And now I love making them in my Ninja Creami at home.

Why You’ll Love This Ninja Creami Açai Bowl
- It’s creamy and smooth.
- You don’t need to add protein powder (unless you want to, details below!).
- Perfect during hot summer days.
- Packed with antioxidants and fibre too!
- They’re endlessly customizable.
- So easy to make or prep ahead.
- They taste DELICIOUS!
Ingredients You’ll Need
- frozen açai packet
- frozen blueberries
- banana
- Greek yogurt
- milk (unsweetened almond milk or regular skim milk)
- Honey (optional, if you like it a bit sweeter)
- granola (for topping, optional)
- strawberries (for topping, optional)

How to Make This Ninja Creami Açai Bowl
- In a blender, combine the açai, blueberries, banana, yogurt, milk and honey (if using). Blend until completely smooth and creamy.
- Pour into your Ninja Creami pint.
- Place the cover on and transfer to your freezer on a flat surface. Freeze for 24 hours.
- When ready to enjoy, remove the pint from the freezer and insert the container in the ninja creami outer bowl, add the lid and lock it into position. Press the smoothie bowl setting.
- When the ninja creami is done, remove the outer bowl and have a look. It will likely be a bit powdery and need a re-spin. Re-spin and then spoon it into a bowl.
- Add the toppings. Serve and enjoy!

Substitutions & Options
- No dairy: use a dairy-free yogurt and milk.
- Banana: omit and add a bit more frozen blueberries or use a different fruit such as mango or avocado.
- Topping ideas: shredded coconut, chia seeds, hemp seeds. Or try different fruit such as papaya, kiwi, raspberries, sliced banana, mango or pineapple.

How to Add More Protein to Your Açai Bowl
I personally like using Greek yogurt here to add some protein naturally.
I find when using protein powder it takes away from the flavour of the açai which I quite enjoy. You can try using an unflavoured protein powder, but personally I don’t use them as I just don’t like them.
If you do want to add protein powder, stick to one scoop of protein powder per pint.
If you want a chocolatey flavour (which compliments the açai very nicely), add a scoop of chocolate protein powder and a bit of cocoa powder. This will obviously change the flavour quite a bit!

Tips to Make the Best of Your Ninja Creami Recipes
- Re-spin function: the re-spin function on the ninja creami is a great feature that reprocesses your mixture so you can get a creamy more desirable texture.
- Add additional milk: before you hit the re-spin button, add a small splash (about 1 tsp) of milk to get it less icy and smoother.
- Let the mixture sit out: let the ninja creami container sit out at room temperature for a few minutes prior to mixing. This reduces the amount of times you’ll need to re-spin and helps to create a smoother, creamy texture.
- Be sure to freeze the mixture long enough: I recommend letting the mixture freeze overnight for best results, 24 hours is best!

Why is My Ninja Creami Açai Bowl Powdery?
When making a lighter ice cream, such as this açai bowl, (or my Ninja Creami Wendy’s Frosty), or adding protein powder, the mixture will likely be a bit powdery. To make it smooth, always do a re-spin. Sometimes, you need to add a small splash of liquid and then re-spin. Try with only a teaspoon of liquid (such as milk) first and then re-spin. Don’t add more than one to two teaspoons at a time as this can make it too watery.
How to Store Leftovers
You can store any leftover açai base in it’s pint in the freezer and then re-spin it when you’re ready to enjoy.
Keep any toppings separate from the base as you don’t want to freeze that as it won’t blend well on a re-spin.

Ingredients & Products I Recommend:
I’m sure you already have the Ninja Creami if you’re looking at this post, but if not, I highly recommend it! It’s obviously essential for this açai bowl recipe.
Ninja Creami: I have really been enjoying the Ninja Creami. There is a ton of information out there on how best to use the Ninja Creami, and it does take a little bit of learning, but it’s definitely worth it in my opinion.
Blender: I have both a Vitamix and Our Place blender and both are great. I love my Vitamix for sheer power, durability and the sizes available. It’s a beast and my first lasted for over 10 years! The Our Place blender is pretty powerful for being much more compact and as with all Our Place products is very nice to look at. If you have a smaller space or are tight on space, the Our Place blender is great!
