Description

This creamy and smooth Ninja Creami açai bowl is packed with antioxidants, fibre and has a decent serving of protein without protein powder. Enjoy with your favourite toppings!

Ingredients

Units Scale

For the açai bowl base:

  • 1 packet (200g) frozen açai, thawed
  • 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1/2 banana (frozen or regular)
  • 1/2 cup full fat Greek yogurt
  • 2 tbsps milk (unsweetened almond milk or regular skim milk)
  • 1 tbsp honey (optional, if you like it a bit sweeter)

For topping:

  • 1 cup granola
  • 1/2 cup frozen blueberries (thawed)
  • 3/4 cup strawberries, chopped

Instructions

  1. In a blender, combine the açai, blueberries, banana, yogurt, milk and honey (if using). Blend until completely smooth and creamy.
  2. Pour into your Ninja Creami pint.
  3. Place the cover on and transfer to your freezer on a flat surface. Freeze for 24 hours.
  4. When ready to enjoy, remove the pint from the freezer and insert the container in the ninja creami outer bowl, add the lid and lock it into position. Press the smoothie bowl setting.
  5. When the ninja creami is done, remove the outer bowl and have a look. It will likely be a bit powdery and need a re-spin. Add a small splash of milk (about one to two teaspoons) and press the re-spin button. Remove and spoon the mixture into a bowl.
  6. Add the toppings. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

Storage: You can store any leftover açai base in it’s pint in the freezer and then re-spin it when you’re ready to enjoy. Keep any toppings separate from the base as you don’t want to freeze that as it won’t blend well on a re-spin.
