Chocolate avocado pudding has been done to death, I can surely admit that. But that doesn’t mean that I can’t provide my own spin on it, right? So often, we assume that because an idea has been done before we shouldn’t bother adding to the discussion. As I learned from listening to a Marie Forleo video, although an idea has been done before, it hasn’t been done by you yet. There’s plenty of room for different versions of the same recipe, so here’s mine!

This post was originally shared in 2017 but has since been updated with newer photos and clearer directions.
Why I Love Making This Pudding
I love making chocolate avocado pudding for so many reasons. And it’s still a go-to dessert because of how easy it is to prep and serve. It stores well in the fridge and you can whip it up and serve it in less than 10 minutes. Plus you can add different adaptogens or flavours, truly the possibilities are endless.

The Ingredients
Here are all the ingredients you’ll need to make this chocolate avocado pudding with chia seeds.

Avocados
Avocados are transformed into a creamy, dreamy and rich pudding.
Cocoa Powder
Cocoa powder provides the rich chocolate taste. Feel free to use either cocoa powder or cacao powder.
Chia Seeds
I love adding chia seeds to this pudding for texture, taste and added nutrients and fibre.
Maple Syrup
For sweetness, maple syrup adds a nice touch. Feel free to use whichever sweetener you like the best. Raw honey, coconut sugar, stevia or anything else.
Dairy-Free Milk
Any type of milk will do for this recipe, so feel free to use what you have on hand.
Vanilla
I love adding a splash of vanilla for flavour.
Berries
For topping, add any berries you wish. Strawberries, raspberries, blackberries or blueberries are all a good idea. Or omit the berries if you don’t have any.
Coconut Whipped Cream (optional)
This is optional, but coconut whipped cream is a great addition and topping.

How to Make This Chocolate Chia Pudding
The great thing about this healthy chocolate avocado pudding (beyond the taste) is how easy it is to make.
All you need to do is add all of the avocado pudding ingredients into a blender or food processor and blend. Feel free to add extra milk as needed to thin it out.

Then, simply store in the fridge until ready to eat. This will last in the fridge for up to 3 days. Anything beyond that and the avocado taste will become stronger.
When you want to enjoy some, add some of the additional toppings such as coconut whip, berries and extra shaved chocolate.

Some Tips to Make this the BEST Chocolate Avocado Pudding
- Make sure your avocados are perfectly ripe: if they’re underripe, they won’t blend properly and overripe ones won’t taste great.
- Sweeten to your taste preference: if you taste it and want it sweeter, add more sweetener. Don’t be afraid to make this taste the way you want it.
- When to enjoy: this avocado chocolate pudding tastes best when you eat it shortly after making it. Because it’s made with avocados, as they ripen more, the taste will get stronger.

This pudding really is so delicious and easy to make. I promise, most people won’t even be able to tell that there are avocados in it, provided you use ripe and delicious avocados. If you do find the avocado taste too strong, go ahead and add more cocoa powder, or sweetener.

Amazing Recipe. I’ve tried it at home. Everyone liked it so much. Thank You!!
Thanks so much Kunal! I am so glad you all liked it, it’s one of my favourites to serve to people as well.
Does this make two servings or one? Thanks!
This makes two large servings. Enjoy 🙂
Wow this is really good. I used half the amount of sweetener and cut out the salt and it was still super yummy and sweet enough for me.
Thanks for sharing! I’m so glad you liked it 🙂
Hi there, Jaclyn. I was wondering if I can replace the sugar with Stevia? If so, any idea as to what the amount would be? Also, the person I would be making this for does not want chocolate – have you made this pudding with fruit on and no chocolate? Thanks !
*I meant with fruit only in the recipe (and no chocolate) and I also meant can I use stevia as the sweetner (instead of honey or maple syrup)?
Hi! For sure, you can use stevia. I’m not very familiar with it so I don’t know for sure how much to add. Start with a small amount and then add more as needed would be my best recommendation. As for not adding chocolate, I’m not sure how it would taste as the chocolate kind of masks the avocado taste and without it, it would be much stronger. I’m sorry, I can’t think of another option for the chocolate.
