If you have been following along already, I am sure you have checked out my previous posts about the best green beauty products from The Detox Market. I have written about all the skincare products and beauty products I love, but this post was written in May 2016 and there has been a lot of new products since then. So I wanted to update that and also it is great timing as they are having a Black Friday Sale both in Canada and the U.S. Not much better than getting stuff on sale, right?! Check the end of the post for the promotion and sale happening right now!
Best Green Beauty Products: Skincare and Inner Beauty:
MV Skinacre, Rose Plus Booster: Made with organic rosehip and Bulgarian rose, this is a MUST if you have dry skin and also love the scent of rose. More than that, this oil helps big time with any redness and helps to balance out hormonal skin. I absolutely adore the whole MV line and this booster in particular makes my skin glow. And you know I am all about that glow! It is always best to apply any oil to slightly damp skin, so apply this after cleansing/toning when your skin is still damp. You only need about 2 drops of this, it blends beautifully with their rose soothing protective moisturizer if you need more moisture, especially important during the day time in the winter. Trust me, you will not regret this purchase, it is definitely worth the price tag!
Mahalo Skin care, Rare Indigo Beauty Balm: I LOVE this balm so very much! Once you open the jar and look at the beautiful colour, you then put it on your skin and just revel in how amazingly soft it makes your skin. This is great for the winter time especially! Made with vitamin C to help boost collagen and anti-inflammatory indigo plant extracts, this is a great option to help hydrate and create a more youthful look. I had heard about this product for so long and was so excited when it came to Canada. It is an absolute gem! Plus you only need very little, so this one will last you quite a bit.
Tata Harper, Resurfacing Mask: This is my FAVE Tata Harper mask because it also gives you an instant glow. I have written all about this mask already, so have a look at this post if you want to read more.
Moon Juice, Beauty Powder: I really became obsessed with moon juice after purchasing the moon juice cookbook. Their products are all great quality and contain powerful ingredients that work from the inside out, which is what I am all about. I like mixing in any sort of adaptogen into my morning elixirs, matcha tea is a personal fave or just adding it to my smoothies. The sex dust is also really great as well!
Anything from The Beauty Chef: Another brand that focuses on beauty from the inside out is The Beauty Chef. I have been using their products for years and they are an amazing company. I love that their whole line is based on addressing the gut first with probiotics and organic ingredients. Specifically, I love their protein (Body Inner Beauty) powder, Glow and Hydration the most. You can read more about my love for The Beauty Chef here.
Innersense Hair Products: I also just recently published a blog post about these products which I love, so you can check out that review in full, here. Specifically, I use the color awakening shampoo and color radiance conditioner as well as the leave in conditioner.
Living Libations, Best Skin Ever: I love this oil cleanser so much! The whole line from Living Libations is top notch and they are Canadian too. Seabuckthorn is bioavailabe, meaning it is able to reach the skin’s deeper level and use antioxidants and fatty acids to help dull skin, without disturbing the pH. The scent is almost therapeutic and feels amazing when you use it.
Province Apothecary, Invigorating + Balancing Toner: I have a thing with mists and toners, for real! I could probably do a whole other blog post on this, but for now, I am loving the toner from PA. One of the reasons I love it of course is the rose and geranium, which are my favourite scents. The other reason I love it is that it doesn’t dry out your skin at all, it is re-mineralized, meaning they have added natural minerals and nutrients to purify and tone your skin. If you are experiencing any blemishes, you can spray this directly on that area to help as well.
Sun Potion: If you want to try some quality adaptogens, I highly recommend trying this brand. All of their products contain quality ingredients that work to help balance your body and your hormones. Specifically, I use He Shou Wu (good for anti aging, skin/hair health, libido and liver detoxification) Ashwagandha (helps your body adapt to stress, focus and clarity and is a potent antioxidant) and reishi (immune support, stress relief and is great to take at night before bed to help you sleep). I also love pearl powder, you can read about my review of that here.
Best Green Beauty Products: Makeup:
Hynt Beauty, Duet Perfecting Concealer: This concealer is like a spot treatment that is great for covering up dark circles (story of my life) and blemishes. It is super concentrated, so a little goes a long way! Make sure that your skin is nice and hydrated before applying so that it can look its best.
Vapour Organic Beauty, Atmosphere Soft Focus Foundation: I have been using this liquid foundation for a while now and love how it makes my skin look all dewy and glowy. If you are looking for more coverage, this may not be the best one for you. This provides a medium-light coverage, that works to make your skin look natural and bright. I definitely recommend this product to everyone I know!
Sappho New Paradigm, Vegan Mascara: I did a whole roundup of my fave mascaras not too long ago and this is one of my absolute faves! It always goes on really nice, not clumpy and it lasts quite a while (about 3-4 months). I only ever need one to two coats and it gives me full, long and natural looking lashes. Most important for a natural mascara, it NEVER, EVER smudges or flakes on me!
Lily Lolo, Laid Bare Eye Palette: I don’t wear eye shadow on the regular, but when I do, I love this palette. It really does have the most beautiful neutral colours that work really well together. Some are more shimmery than others, but most are matte, which I personally prefer. It goes on nice and smooth, and although you may need to re-blend or touch it up, it does stay on for the most part all day. To be honest, I haven’t found any that won’t crease, although if you use a primer, maybe that will help. Truthfully, it doesn’t bother me all that much and depending on your eyes, maybe it will last all day without the need to touch it up.
RMS Beauty, Magic Luminizer: All about that glow and that highlighter and RMS is pretty much the best at it in my opinion. I love the magic shade in addition to the tried and true living luminizer because of the champagne tint to it. It really helps to brighten your skin and provides a warmer glow. The magic is more intense than the living, so depending on what you like and what look you are going for, you could use both or one or the other.
