Peanut Butter and Jelly Bites
There are combos in life that just go together, like avocado and toast (or tbh- avocado with anything) or a burger and fries. But is there anything quite as classic as peanut butter and jelly? Growing up, I had this combo all the time, who didn’t?! And this is a classic for a reason. The sticky nature of the peanut butter combined with sweet jam makes perfect sense. I wanted to create all those same nostalgic feelings, so I created these peanut butter and jelly bites. I hope you love them too!

The Classics are A Classic For a Reason:
These peanut butter and jelly bites were inspired by a local vegan and gluten free restaurant here in Toronto (and Quebec) called Kupfert and Kim. If you’re ever in the area, check them out, I highly suggest it, and especially recommend trying their peanut butter and jelly bites. Honestly, I’ve tried most of the menu items and everything is delicious.
But when I was hosting a workshop earlier this year, they were so kind to gift us with some of their delicious snacks, including the infamous peanut butter and jelly balls. It was the first time I tried them and I was IN LOVE. I actually wasn’t sure that the bites would end up lasting until the workshop only a few days away. So I knew I had to make them myself ay home.

Ingredients
These peanut butter and jelly energy balls are SO easy to make and you only need five ingredients!
- Medjool dates
- Cashews (raw)
- Almonds (raw)
- Peanut Butter
- Freeze Dried Raspberries or Strawberries
- Kosher salt
If you’re in Canada, you can order these freeze dried strawberries from Natura Market. This is where I ordered them from.

How to Make
These peanut butter and jelly bites are also super easy to make at home. All you need is a food processor and about ten minutes.
First, it’s time to blend the freeze dried strawberries (or raspberries) until a fine powder forms. Remove and set aside in a bowl. Wipe out the food processor with a paper towel.
Next, add the dates, cashews and almonds to a food processor. Process until the mixture is crumbly and holds together when pressed between your fingers. This will take about two minutes of pulsing.

Add the peanut butter and salt and process until everything is incorporated.
Remove the mixture from the food processor and form into roughly 20 golf-ball sized balls. Roll the balls in the freeze dried powder and store in the fridge until ready to eat.

Tips
- More peanut flavour: use peanuts instead of almonds or cashews.
- Use clean, slightly damp hands: when rolling the peanut butter balls, you’ll want to make sure your hands are clean and slightly damp. It makes things easier.
- Keep them in the fridge: these peanut butter and jelly bites taste best when stored in the fridge. You can also freeze them if you’d like.
- Freeze dried fruit: these peanut butter and jelly energy balls taste best with freeze dried strawberries or raspberries.
