So I missed my Monday post because it was a holiday here in Canada and I got really messed up with the dates and forgot to snap pics of what I had eaten, oops! So I decided to do a Friday post instead, should be interesting…
In the morning, I had a green smoothie with cashew milk, spinach, banana, chia seeds, almond butter and some frozen avocado.
For lunch, I had a spinach salad, with leftover chicken, red onion, almonds and some avocado. As for the dressing I whisked up a super simple (my staple) dressing: extra virgin olive oil, squeeze of lemon, drizzle of balsamic, dijon mustard and raw honey. Then just add a bit of sea salt and pepper and you are all good!
Because this is a Friday, things tend to get a little messy sometimes… and tonight was a launch party for a club that Sam belongs to, so we went there and I drank wine and ate lots of food and then we headed to the baseball game.
I tried to take pictures of everything so that you can see its completely normal to go out, have a good time and enjoy yourself. You don’t need to worry about controlling all your calories or macros all the time. Sometimes, its nice to just enjoy life and food and not make it into a big deal.
When I used to be obsessed about everything I ate, I wasn’t very happy nor was I very fun to be around. It wasn’t easy, but I worked at it and when I realized it was a problem, luckily I took action. I still very much care about the food I eat, but I don’t obsess about it and I know that it is much more important what I do most of the time than what I do some of the time.
So at the party, I nibbled on some maki rolls, octopus and then had some bites of food and wine (it was free) so you know I had more than a glass… oops! And when I say a “bite of food” I mean literally a bite…
We were actually really hungry and so we ordered a pasta dish and shared that. Can you believe people at the event actually said “wow, you ordered a lot of food…” and gave a look. Really?! Pet peeve of mine to pass judgment on someone based on what they choose to eat or how much. I wasn’t planning on eating anything at the baseball game so I needed to fuel up before hand.
People need to chill though. Its really none of their business what I or anyone else chooses to eat.
Anyways, we stayed for about two hours and then headed to the baseball game. Because I was a bottomless pit that day, Sam and I got some gelato from Soma, which is seriously sooooo good. It is dangerous that I live so close to this place.
And that is that, I did stop eating after the gelato. Hopefully that helps put things in perspective and you can get a better understanding of what I eat on days when everything isn’t so controlled because I’m at home.
